Rough week

This week has been tough emotionally. Hormones + stress + more stress + working with 40 addicted women each day = recipe for a crying spell.
So I came home a little early Tuesday to take care of myself and Ryan was home too so I got to get lots of hugs and cuddles and loves. He also booked a prenatal massage for me and it was fan-freakin'-tastic. My husband is truly the best man ever.
It was done by Stacey at Massage By Stacey in Dallas (I couldn't get the hyperlink to work so here's the website: http://www.massagebystacey.com/aboutus.html). It included a foot soak, mini-facial and massage. I didn't even realize how much dull aches and pains I was carrying around with me until she massaged and mashed on all these different areas. I highly recommend! She also does other types of massages, but she is a certified prenatal massage therapist, which is important if you are preggo!
Also we ate at Gloria's b/c I wanted an enchilada. A nice frozen margarita would have been nice too, but alas, I cannot partake for a (long) while.
Then we watched the Rangers beat the Yankees while I mended Ryan's favorite pair of shorts. While I was in the sewing mood (and also trying to look for my sewing materials) I found Ryan's partially finished stocking that I started 2 Christmases ago (oops). It's a Bucilla felt do-it-yourself stocking kit like my mom made for all of us when we were little. These things take A LOT of work. Here's the design of the stocking I've started for Ryan (mine only has the background and half a snowman thus far):

Rachelle also posted about finishing one for her daughter recently, so that plus already sewing made be bust out my unfinished product.
What's made it even more difficult, is that my kit was missing a major piece (the blue top half of the stocking) so I've had to improvise and buy a blank blue piece and guess where everything fits.
I figure that I'll have it finished in the next month or so if I actually work on a small piece every other day. Too bad I also have kits to make Duke and myself stockings as well. Those will get put on the back burner now, as I'll be purchasing a kit for our baby boy and starting on that before any others! Maybe I'll enlist my mother's help! But I want them to be handcrafted by me. Oh well, I'll do Ryan's and baby's and have mom help with mine and Duke's.
Pray that my week goes better (and that I get my stockings together before Christmas...Lord knows that not much is going to get done after that w/baby arriving about the same time)!

  1. I hate being stressed and hormonal! Sounds like a massage was just what the dr ordered! I think I might try her at some point! (unless you know of anyone closer to the Rock). I didn't ever do it when i was pregnant last time and it sounds like a huge relief!

I feel for you with the stockings too! I didn't even order Luke or myself one yet because they are SOOOO time consuming! And, until it gets close to Christmas time, it's hard to get motivated! Good luck!! (Can you call Bucilla and see if they'll send you the missing piece? How frustrating!)
