It has a terrible cover, and it's not the most well-written book, but she has a truly captivating story. I read it in a couple of days.
In her story, God showed up in the form of radical miracles throughout her harsh journey escaping Iran and establishing her ministry across her travels of the world. I'm talking visions, dreams, provisions, conversions of the most unlikely people, and healings of all sorts.
It got me thinking, #1 I want faith like hers, and #2 Why don't we see more miracles here?
I've pondered that question before and pretty much have come some variation of this answer every time:
"And He did not do many miracles there because of their unbelief." (Matthew 13:58)
This was from my Journey reading for today, talking about how Jesus was visiting his hometown, astonishing people with his wisdom and powers. But toward the end of the passage it says, "And they took offense to Him." They were entertained for a bit, but they ultimately rejected him and did not have faith.
We do not have faith because we don't "need" for Him to provide much by worldly standards. We just control the variables in our situation to make ourselves as comfortable as possible. Most of us aren't starving or in fear for our lives because of our faith in this country. We overlook things that should shame us in the name of "tolerance," and keep the status quo. Our faith is small most of the time. What do we need with a miracle?
Well, we do need the miracle of Jesus Christ who came to earth, died for our sins, and was resurrected and now sits and the right hand of God. So do millions of other people who have never even heard the truth about His goodness.
So in response to his hugeness, I'm praying bigger. I'm asking Him to make me bolder, show me where I need Him and who else needs Him that He might use me to show them His miracles.
Read that book. It's great. Read His Book. It's life changing!

Miracles
A year or so ago, my mother-in-law, Betsey, heard this woman, Mina Nevisa, speak about how Christ has transformed her life out of Islam in Iran. Betsey couldn't stop talking about how powerful it was and went to great lengths to find this book she wrote called Miracle of Miracles.
It has a terrible cover, and it's not the most well-written book, but she has a truly captivating story. I read it in a couple of days.
